Rude, Ignorant, Unprofessional and Inaccurate - DO NOT BUY FROM SAXTON 4x4

After months of going back and forth the only offer Saxton 4x4 have made is a demand for me to remove this review with the promise of a "goodwill gesture". Having incurred no less than £1,900.00 worth of additional costs I'm not willing to proceed without clarification...

Still no response from Saxton via their own conciliation service. Collected the car only to discover that the automatic wing mirrors and speedometer light no longer work.

The drivers side tyre went flat the following day.

So here we are SAXTON has had the car for well over 2 months and nothing has happened. The National Conciliation Service is not getting the response from Mr Cripps so they are unable to adjudicate.

Bought a 2010 Range Rover Sport on the 27/4/16 for £24,600. Within weeks it started smoking, went back in and new injectors were fitted.

Few weeks later, suspension warning light, Saxton fully booked told me to take it to a local specialist under the warranty. Needed new suspension arm, new rear compressor and one of the wheels was cracked. Had done less than 3,000 in the 10 weeks we owned it. Independent specialist said the faults should have been picked up during the pre-delivery inspection.

RAC Warranty said ‘not covered’, Saxton 4x4 said I’d have to pay; I said under the 2015 Consumer Rights Act Saxton 4x4 have a legal responsibility to repair the vehicle, if they are not going to can I have a copy of their complaints procedure and the name of any regulatory bodies. Response from Mr Neil Cripp was as follows:

" I ‘am happy to help by doing the job for you at the lowest cost possible but that is all I can offer to you”

“Saxton 4x4 are part the RMI and you can use that conciliation service however my decision will not be changing and that is final. There was no reason to supply you with the complaints procedure as I'm the final decision maker in this process."

In my opinion Mr Cripp is obviously a complete ***, he couldn't get my name right, he demanded the return of a courtesy car I never had, he refused to give me a copy of the complaints procedure and he believes that his decision is final (let’s see what a judge has to say about that).

Are Saxton 4x4's engineer’s incompetent or do they deliberately ignore serious faults or could they be instructed to ignore faults that may take some time to fail. Whatever the case do you really want these types of people working on the car before you buy it, can you trust their work, do they carry out safe working practices.

Message for Mr Neil Cripp, if you are going to be a rude, arrogant *** you should learn to pick the fights you can actually win. You know nothing about me who I am, what I do and yet you make a statement like “You are simply never goi g to accept that the costs are running costs of a 4 wheel drive vehicle of the age and mileage” I own a fleet of vehicles and several successful businesses I’m happy to go toe to toe with you in court and what are you going to do when you get a judgment against you

Also as I recall you were rude to everyone that posted on your complaint, even those who were on your side, when someone told you off you lied and claimed your account was hacked.

Do not give these crooks a deposit for anything Mis advertised a vehicle so I decided not to purchase After 2 days. Asked for my 2k back, but had to fight then They deducted £200 for "wasting their time " !!!

So misleading me does'nt count ? Gardx , what a ***. Gap insurance , look elsewhere as a fraction of the cost ANY ONE WHO DEALS WITH THIS LOT MUST BE MAD. The car I looked at had loads of faults and was told these would be Done before I took the car, why display a car that isn't showroom condition.

Appalling service, when there is a problem be warned .......they turn nasty.

SO GLAD I DID NOT BUY FROM THEM. Lucky lucky

Absolutely disgusting dealership, took a deposit over the phone on a vehicle I had never seen, then when I asked to inspect the car they told me it was still waiting to arrive. I waited and waited and then asked for my 'deposit' back. They refused to refund my money - need to brush up on distance sale contract Austin family. Purchased a car from saxton, the car arrived 1 month later than promised. Within 6 months there are numerous problems which have incurred with a useless warranty that covers nothing, stay away from this scamming dealership who are unprofessional with non existent customer service and after sales.

BEWARE - they sell you a car, then abandon you

Warranty with RAC is hopeless, Saxtons sold us a 30k used x5, then when the transmission went in 4 weeks, they completely ignored us. The warranty covers nothing and Saxtons won't get involved, they just said call RAC who have told us everything is not covered despite having the Platinum plan - what is the point of a warranty then?

They say prestige car sales, but this is cheap second hand car sales that everyone fears.

We called them many times, they dragged us over to Chelmsford, then sent us back to Southend, then put the phone down on us.

I would heavily caution against buying from this company.

Neither saxton 4x4 or the RAC warranty are aware of any BMW x5 gearbox issue not rectified or resolved.

We are eager to assist you with this matter but do require you to supply us with your registration number so we can look into this further.

I told you all I would keep you updated. My Range Rover has been put into storage by the main dealer in Ashford at Saxtons expense . Saxton have today received a letter from my solicitor. They had called me last week but still no way to resolve the problem or refund!. I'm told the invisible Alan Austin is heavily involved but still won't talk. The previous owner of my car part exchanged it for a newer one. After speaking to them today they have problems with there new one and Saxton have done nothing and said not covered by warranty.They also said never deal with SAXTON 4X4.again Saxtons did say I would get the bill for storage. I WONT.I can now not try to speak to Saxton as in the hands of the court. Trading standards have been notified.They have also not paid main dealer for there works so far. I shall as promised keep you all informed. Please take this as a warning before buying from them. Simon

Poor customer service

Phoned up to enquire about two cars, sales person was more interested in getting a deposit from me even though I hadn't seen the cars. He said one was sold but then enquiried with his finance team and said it was now available as the other customer had been refused finance. I requested some pics of one of the cars as they weren't on their website. I was told it was a waste of time unless I was interested in placing a deposit and that they are a large volume garage. The salesperson kept pressing me for a time to call me back to get a deposit of £1000. It was an initial enquiry and if the car looked right I planned to test drive at the weekend. We agreed a time for him to call back after sending me some pics but I haven't received any info, no surprise I guess.. Shame because I am a Range Rover fan and am in the market to spend £33k on the right Range Rover. I was really surprised at the rude, unprofessional and basically poor service. I just wanted more info and a couple of pics for a car that I was prepared to spend £33k on, I didn't think that was too much to ask. It put me off Saxton. I am looking elsewhere for another RRS

How do they they get away with it?????

I have just 1 question, How are Saxton 4x4 getting away with what they are doing? I just wish this blog was available before i bought!!!!

But i am still having problems yet!!! It really does surprise me that our Gov do not do anything the consumer protection people. I complained to them all. I even complained to the Finance company who said they would resolve and they also did nothing.

Its like they are all frightened. I heard that the Director was an MP, is it True? I know this is more than one question now, but this will not let me submit less than 100 words. but still the point is clear.

Why hasn't anybody done anything about this company? I have dealt with the following people and they all the same Neil Cripps Andy Vowels Danny Garner Kevin Francis N Wenman N White Jason Watts N Sturman All trained by the same trainer!!!!

You should never go there!! It been three month I got a Land Rover from them, I was told it had two keys when I went to get my car they only give me one n said they can't find another but they will contact me and give me my other key or my key money back, after 3 week no call nothing, when I called they told me the sale man left work, after that I explain what happened, they said they will call me back with information, it went a month I never get reply if time I call I get same answer, then I spoken to manager Andy explained, what he said he will sort it out, it been a month he doesn't pick my phone or call me back if I leave a msg, they don't care about you or anything soon as you put ur feet out from there showroom with the car, before that they seem nice a so sweet to you as if they are giving you a car for free, I will never go there or recommend to family n friends

I bought a car Mercedes GL320 for £17 500 that had a faulty turbo charger. They promised me that they had fixed the problem one 28 days down the line they wont even return my calls.

the warrant company is not helpful I am having to do all the running around .Don't buy Saxton 4x4 be warned . They have a very bad customer services you can call them 20 times they will not return your calls .

They will not even acknowledge your email all the things they promised me where not addressed. They made me drive to Chelmsford from Norwich and they did not have the things they had promised and did not even apologise .

Horrendous experience

Bought a car from Saxton 4x4 a year ago, within two weeks the car broke down as the engine had completely failed, I was then quoted more than the car was worth to fix this problem. Saxton weren't interested that I had bought this Land Rover only weeks ago and it was at that point in a garage, leaving me with no car and a new baby. it took them MONTHS to even return my call, the financial director had me in tears telling me this is not their problem. For a 'prestige' Land Rover garage I find this disgusting. It was finally fixed, but I still to this day have no paperwork proving repairs that I have chased up on many occasions. This car has been in and out of the work shop since. I now work at a Land Rover dealership in Aberdeen and I will be contacting Land Rover direct with an official complaint as only now do I realise the importance of customer service and the lack of that I was receiving. I have spread the word far and wide that this company is absolutely disgusting and I completely wasted my money on a car with them, I would have been better spending £25,000 on a replica. I also got no service book so have zero service history. Horrendous company, horrendous people and an over all horrendous experience.

Click on this site every time you get a spare minute as it brings it to the top off the list when you click on SAXTON website. Hopefully we can put other innocent people from getting ripped off.

As I have said Tony has turned out to be as bad as the rest off the company. As the poor guy who bought a low mileage 2 Year old Discovery could have been killed and his family by these people and the MD doe's not care only what's in the bank!. I shall not give up on my case and nor should all off you poor punters like me.I had a call from a John at Saxton Friday about my complaint he had received that day. It's been going on for weeks.

I called an hour ago to see what he had found out.He's gone home early!

surprising that!.Land Rover main dealer get the same response. KEEP CLICKING best of luck

Q5 issues

Bought a top of the line Q5 from these guys and within a week the coolant light came on and on inspection the coolant level have dropped below the minimum. Saxton weren't interested and i spent a further £ 2500 rectifying the problem. My advice is never buy a car from a non franchised dealer as you have no come back. Further issues with the car and I cut my losses and let the car go as I wasn't prepared to throw good money after bad. I lost £9500 in 6 months. The RAC warranty wasn't worth the paper it was written on as they said the issues were wear and tear.

I am very surprised that you have experienced this from Saxton, I night a Range Rover from them a couple of weeks ago, unfortunately the car developed a few issues with the Fuel pump, heating system and more recently the power steering pump. On each occasion I spoke with a Tony Craske who was unbelievably helpfull all issues are now resolved, during the period my car was in their workshop they put me into a hire car. Unless you buy a brand new car malfunctions will appear, my experience with this company during times of issues was very pleasant, I will be doing repeat business with them due to the quality of aftercare service offered to me by Tony Craske.

Brakes failed discovery 4

Driving just 10 miles after purchasing a 2year old discovery 4 with just 5000 miles on it the brakes failed and the nightmare began with Saxton. The car when I arrived to collect it was filthy it had been off road I later found out and there was damage to the undercarriage they wouldn't accept my calls and were no assistance at all very rude and distressing to deal with.

They make promises which they don't keep and will promise you that they are very reputable dealer but in fact it is a well oiled machine in finding the best way to sell you a car that in my case was neither road worthy or safe.

My local Landover dealership said they had never seen such a low mileage discovery in such poor condition. BEWARE.
